Happy Inktober!

I've been planning to commit to drawing, painting, sketching everyday for a while now and have yet to start ... until today!!

Luckily I came across this great challenge for the month of October called Inktober founded originally by a very talented artist Jake Parker.  Check out his site here.

Basically it goes a little something like this...

1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).

2) Post it on your blog (or tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)

3) Hashtag it with #inktober

4) Repeat

Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.

I'm really excited to see what comes out creatively this month as I've been working more on my calligraphy and using ink as my primary medium.

Here's some of my most recent work...

Below is my tool kit for the next 31 days and am excited about working strictly in black in white and playing with hand lettering and calligraphy.

I'll be posting my daily inks on Instagram and on l.i.d's Facebook page if you'd like to follow along!

Leave me a quick comment if you plan on joining me these next 31 days as I'd love to check out what you come up with!

Before I sign-off... if you're still reading this post then I've a little something that you may enjoy!

If you follow me on social media, you'll have notice that I've been preparing for a fabulous show that just happened over the weekend - Etsy Made In Canada Toronto.  Well I am happy to report that is was a huge success! We sold out of many prints, cards and towels and have been busy replenishing, shipping custom orders and catching our breath!

I slipped a little something into the 50 swag bags that were given out that day.  A gift and a promo code.
