Seriously, anytime I'm at an art gallery or museum, I usually stand in front of the portraits, observing ALL the details and creative style of the artist, whether large, expressive ones or simple sketches found in glass enclosures in the museum.

In 2023, I participated in the #100daychallenge and challenged myself to draw portraits for 100 days. I fell in LOVE with the practice & art of portrait painting!

I've been studying how to paint portraits for years now. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see my many pictures and reels of portrait sketching posts.

After completing the 100-day challenge, I found my love for learning to sketch the human face and anatomy. Although I wouldn’t call myself a pro at portrait sketching, I’ve found what works for me.

Sometimes, I work from photo references, and sometimes, I don’t, but every time I sit down and create a portrait, I learn something new.

This class will focus on 3 of my favorite techniques for developing simple, effective, and easy-to-do portraits once you get the process down.

I’ll explain how I sketch and paint my own portraits, how you can sketch and paint portraits in your own style, and how I found my style through painting portraits.
